Besides being one of the forefathers of the backpack movement, once upon a time, circumstances moved him to kiss my cheek during a brief interlude. Afterward, he looked down and told me he wouldn't wash his lips for a week.
I just remember thinking he was thoughtful for that. (Loneliness makes you remember the most random encounters)
