Happy National HIV Testing Day

I would get tested today, but my results are less than 120 days old :-) If yours aren't, go get tested in celebration of knowing your status. For everything you need to know about finding a center that tests for free in your community, click here .

What Part of the Game is This?

They straight got my boy Layfayette decked out like a gay Mr. T. in season 4 of "True Blood".

Happy Juneteenth!

148 Years ago, my people were set "free" from slavery in the United States. From that, Freedom Day, a.k.a. Juneteenth was born!

On Fire!

I'm all over the Buena Vista Social Club that has fed me much needed sustenance. Just listen and live.

Have you EVER...

...been awakened by this. Does it do everything but make you wanna pray, like it does me? God forgive me.

Once Upon a Time I was with Cee-lo Green and...

....remind me to tell you my Cee-lo story sometime. Until then, listen and live.

Big ups to Katey Red!

My revolutionary friends might be mad I am endorsing yet another "degrading" booty shaking venture in the Black community. My Christian friends might be mad I'm endorsing what may possibly be an un-Godly message. My heterosexual male friends might be mad I'm endorsing a tranny. And my backpack rap friends, what, no east coast, son?

With all that said, I don't give a damn, 'cause little do they know, after the slaying of Magnolia Shorty and Messy Mya, Katey Red is instrumental in keeping the New Orleans bounce movement alive. EVERYBODY needs to dig in and live with these new-age, African tribal dances to a fyre track! (I just hope "melph" isn't some N'awlins slang for meth...)

Remembering Geronimo Pratt

Though most people know Oakland, CA is where I was born and the ONLY city I will always call home, only key members in my family know that my oldest uncle was one of the unsung soldiers in the formation of the Black Panther Party. For my uncle Monzell, Huey, Stokely, and those of us who still live oppressed, we must remember the life of Geronimo Pratt. Here are at least 5 other reasons why.

R.I.P. Jnylah Douglas

A seven-year old little girl has died from wounds sustained when she was shot in the head by a stray bullet while at a playground by a-monkey looking, crazy assed crackhead during a drug deal gone awry on May 22. More on the story here.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

The Good: Lauryn Hill is pregnant, again, with her 6th child by Rohan Marley. Babies are a blessing from God.

The Sad Bad: She STILL isn't married to Rohan, though she has referred to him as her husband.

The Ugly: ROHAN IS STILL MARRIED TO HIS COLLEGE SWEETHEART, Geraldine Khawly.

Call me traditional but either this is the ultimate tea or I'm hella late 'cause I didn't know Rohan had a wife. SMDH. And for the record, whenever you want to hear it, I have a story about my "meeting" Lauryn Hill and let me just say, chile, it ain't nice!

UPDATE: Rohan says he's not married nor is he the father of the baby Lauryn Hill's carrying. See his tweets here.

One More Reason Clayton Bigsby Hates Us!

"Wide nose breathin'...thinkin' they the best dancers...swindlers.."
I have three words for you: Mr. Ghetto's "Walmart". I will not endorse this monstrosity by showing it but I will say this. Sometimes I don't mind "nigga $hit" (obnoxiously loud music, talking hella loud on your phone while at the cash register, etc.) and I love Walmart, booty shakin' and bounce music. However, those four things combined are a detriment to our race.
